Our friend Rosie has just released her EP ‘The Lost Gardens’ on Upcycled Sounds, and we spent a great weekend performing two launch events in a decked out studio in Cuckoo Lane. Eddy and Joe play in Rosie’s band, and Joe also played a solo Jay Sunaway set.
In the second of a series of shows called ‘The Ravensdale Sessions’, we performed alongside Worldwide Welshman, Kerttu Sormunen and labelmate Zander Sharp in a converted warehouse in Stamford Hill hosted by Adam Lalak, who also designed the Earth Hum cover.
Thanks all who came for a grand night.
We played a wonderful show on the Golden Hinde on 23/08, supporting our friends and labelmates Limpet Space Race in launching their debut EP, Cartograffiti. LSR are fronted by our accordion player and singer Hannah Jakes, and the new EP is astonishingly good.
Joe played a couple of solo shows in Toulouse and Bordeaux as part of the British Embassy in Paris’ Les Voisins project – pop up events in various French cities showcasing British culture.
We played at the amazing Tandem Festival in June – here’s our tune ‘Eat the Snow’, live from a Stone Barn.
Joe is featured on the new EP ‘Mais c’est quoi maman?’, recorded over a week in Paris last year with 9 musicians from around the world. He sings and plays guitar on Track 1, a little backing guitar on track 2, and electric guitar on track 4.
‘Earth Hum’, our first studio EP, is officially released today!
To talk shop for a minute, if you stream it and you like it, we ask that you buy a copy. It’s available on Bandcamp as a digital download, or if you buy one of our limited edition cassettes or pieces of Adam Lalák’s original concept art, you’ll also receive a digital copy.
It costs money to make, and we want to make more, so please put your hand in your pocket.
Eyes Up! Moonwards is the first track on our upcoming EP ‘Earth Hum’ and we’ve made a short video to go with it.
If you preorder Earth Hum here, you get can get this track right away, with the rest following on April 4.
The band all have a role in the video, but special thanks to Orani, Maeve and Worldwide Welshman Liam Rickard for stepping in and supporting us, and of course to Rafi for filming.
Our pal Rafi Uddin filmed us playing our modern day shanty ‘Fish of the Sea’ on the Golden Hinde last week. Here’s the result, mixed with some time tipe-lapse photography from producer and unofficial sixth member Nicholas O’Brien.
